I needed a new wireless keyboard and mouse because the wired ones that I had were no longer convenient due to the PC’s location. I didn’t want to pay through the nose for something, so went looking for something cheap and cheerful.

I came across the Octigen Wireless Keyboard & Mouse set for £11 on Amazon UK, and after reading the reviews, I decided to give it a try. Needless to say, I am pretty happy with the product.

When first setting up the keyboard & mouse, it was just a case of plugging in the USB dongle, putting the batteries in the keyboard and mouse, and away we go – it really was that simple.

The mouse itself is very nice to look at, although it is reasonably smaller than a regular mouse. I have fairly small hands and it fits quite snuggly and is a pleasure to use. If you are male, or have large hands, this may not suit you quite as well.

The keyboard is a decent size, complete with all of the regular hot keys – volume, mute, mail, search, etc. It fits quite nicely on my lap when using it, and does what you would expect of a keyboard. The keys aren’t noisy and clunky like some keyboards, which adds to my pleasure because I like them quiet. There is a glossy effect to the keyboard which seems to be a magnet for fingerprints, but these wipe away pretty easily.

I have had my keyboard & mouse set for almost 6 weeks at time of posting and have only had to change the batteries once. I believe this could be because the batteries that were included were just your bog standard batteries, which do the job at first to enable you to set up and use straight out of the box.

All in all, for the price, I would definitely recommend the Octigen Wireless Keyboard & Mouse set to anyone who wants something that does the job, but without breaking the bank.
